How to Increase Chances of a Quick Home Sale

On average, studies have shown that homes typically sell in just over three months. Depending on certain circumstances, however, it can take much longer to sell your home. Having your home on the market can be stressful—especially since homes depreciate the longer they are on the market—and time-consuming, so selling your home quickly can be very beneficial.

Work With a Real Estate Agent

Real estate agents know the housing market very well and how to advertise your home effectively for a quick sale. You will end up paying your agent a 2.5-3% commission fee. Depending on how much your home sells for, this can be a considerable amount of money. This amount, however, is worth it for their valuable expertise and knowledge. If anyone knows how to sell a home quickly, it is a seasoned real estate agent. When choosing an agent, pick one who has lots of experience and knows your neighborhood or city well.

Stage Your Property

One of the things you can do to make your home more appealing to buyers is to professionally stage it. Staging may seem fake and silly, but it is actually a very effective marketing strategy. Staging your home helps potential buyers get to know your property and envision themselves living in it.

When they see a staged home, they can imagine where they would eat meals, what it would feel like to sit in the living room, or what kind of color scheme they would want to pick for decorations. When buyers can better imagine themselves actually living in a property, they are more likely to be more interested and ready to buy that property.

Sell to a Cash Buyer

Instead of focusing on things you can do differently to sell your home faster, you can focus on the type of buyer you are marketing to. Finding a buyer who wants to buy a home as quickly as possible will lead to a quick home sale. Cash buyers are these types of buyers, and they will pay you in full for your property.

You might be wary of selling your home quickly because you might get scammed. However, you can legitimately sell your home quickly for a great price as long as you are working with a serious, trustworthy buyer. Both you and the buyer can get what you want as long as the price and conditions are right for both parties.
